Editing process

This is our first editing session so far. We used this lesson to capture all of the footages we have recorded so far for our music video. It took us roughly 30mins to capture all of the footage, we separated our recording into the appropriate scenes instead of having one long take of footages to put on the timeline. This made things easier for us when organising our timeline from which scenes to start with and will make things easier in the future when we had a lager amount of records because we can place them at different periods in the timeline depending on there placement on the storyboard. As you can see on our timeline, we had started editing our first few footage in scene 1 which is in the playground. We have managed cut all the unnecessary footages in the first scene by using the editing tool on the right hand side. After doing this we were able to create a swift transition between takes from the different angles we record and also add a crossfade effect at the end of the scene when Tom (the lead singer) looks up into the sky. We used this effect in order to create the impression that the upcoming events was a daydream and surreal. Our first editing session went smoothly since every member in the group knows how to use the programme Final Cut Express and we will continue our editing progress after we have record all necessary footages for our music video.
