Finding the right music

To find a suitable music video to use for our A2 coursework we will have to find music produced by an unsigned artist. To be able to use the artist's music we must then write an e-mail asking for permission, when received a confirmation email we are then legally allowed to use the music. To find such videos we will be using websites such as www.youtube.com, www.unsigned.com or www.myspace.com. In order to contact our chosen artist we will use popular social networking sites such as Twitter or Facebook, this is because we will more likely to be able to contact them and get a reply quickly. The E-mail i will send will consist of vital information such as who i am as well as my group members, where am from, age, what school i attend to and the purpose of me wanting to use the video.

Dear (Artists name)

Hi my name is Dapo Awofolu, i am 17years old currently a student at Robert Clack School in Essex, Dagenham. One of the subjects am studying is Media at A2 and part of the assignment for the course is to create a music video using an unsigned Artist's song which we feel would be the most suitable in order to offer a range of ideas to make a good music video. Congratulation on your promotional tour in the UK, Me and my group members are massive fans of your single 'Tonight i let you go' and we would like to use the music for our project as we have multiple ideas on themes and locations we could use for your song. We would be greatful if you were to reply to my E-mail giving me and my group permission to use your song, and if so can you please send me a link of where i can obtain an mp3 copy of the song and also the lyrics would be great in making our project easier to complete. Thank you for your time and cooperation and ill make sure i we do a good job with your music for our project.

Yours Sincerely Dapo Awofolu
